Next movie up for discussion: Secretariat!
I bought this movie on Tuesday. I hadn't seen it yet but I'm a sucker for Disney movies so I knew I'd like it and want to watch it over and over again. I was right!!
The movie is about a woman who is trying to save her family farm. A horse is born and she has it trained to race. The goal is for Secretariat to win the triple crown... The Kentucky Derby, Preakness Steaks, and Belmont Steaks. If Secretariat loses just one, he will be devalued and the family will lose the farm. Of course, since this is based on a true story, we know exactly how it ends. BUT I was still on the edge of my seat, nervous, afraid that the horse won't win the next race. There was even a tear or two by the end.
I would definitely recommend anyone to watch this. A wonderful Disney family movie.
I can't wait to see this movie! Wanted to see it in the theater but missed it!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know it was out yet, but am definitely excited to see it as well!
ReplyDeleteI am scared, it seems like all movies with animals end with them not living! I dont think i could handle a horse :(
ReplyDelete@Ashton - totally agree. I always stay away from animal movies because I can not stand to see them hurt or die. My husband bought me A Dog Named Marley last year (2009) for Christmas and I STILL have not watched it because I read the book and know how it ends. :(
ReplyDeleteWell trust me, nothing bad like that will happen in this movie. The tears I shed were tears of joy! :)
ReplyDeleteI am 100% not inclined not to see this movie lol. I guess mostly because I did not like Seabiscuit at all and I have to believe they're going to be similar. I do like John Malkovich, and he's in it right? The thing is I like John Malkovich for his really evil or demented roles, of which I doubt this will be one haha. Either way, movies centered around animals usually are not quality films. As most of you have said, and as Elizabeth and I's film appreciation professor told us, they're not usually intended to be good movies, they're only supposed to attack your emotions! And it looks like they succeeded!
